Custom Cake Strips & Wraps — Edible Sheets for Cake Sides
Wrap your cake in a custom design instead of just topping it. Our edible cake strips and wraps print your photo, logo, or artwork in vivid, food-safe edible ink onto soft frosting sheets or wafer paper, made to apply right onto the sides of your cake. Use a full wrap for a 360° edible design, or pre-cut strips for layered bands and modern decorative looks — perfect for birthdays, naked-cake style bakes, corporate cakes, and anything that deserves a finish on every side, not just the top.

Choose Your Size
Wraps and strips are sized a little differently than toppers — here's what the numbers mean before you pick.
📐 How Sizing Works
Height is how tall the strip stands on your cake's side, from the board up. Measure your cake's height and pick a size that covers it.
Length is the total length of the sheet or strip before trimming. Measure around your cake (its circumference) and choose the size closest above that measurement — you'll trim off any excess to get a clean fit.

Tips for the Best Results
- Apply to freshly frosted, slightly tacky buttercream so the wrap adheres without sliding — fully set or crusted frosting won't grip well.
- Wrap the strip loosely around the cake first to mark your cutting line, then trim with clean scissors before pressing it into place.
- Smooth from one end around the cake in one direction, and tuck the seam at the back where it's least visible.
- For taller cakes, the Half Sheet or 4" x 10" strips give more coverage; for layered bands or spacing, the 2.5" x 10.5" strips work great stacked or spaced apart.
- Frosting sheets are flexible and curve smoothly around most cakes; wafer paper is a bit more rigid, so it's best suited to gentler curves or larger cakes.
- Chill the cake briefly after wrapping to help everything set before moving or transporting it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between cake strips and a full wrap sheet?
The pre-cut strips (sets of 2 or 3) are narrower bands designed for layered or decorative looks, while the Quarter and Half Sheets give you one continuous piece you can wrap fully around the cake or trim down as needed.
What size do I need for my cake?
Measure your cake's height and the distance around it (circumference), then match those numbers to the height and length listed for each size above. When in between sizes, size up — it's easier to trim extra than to come up short.
How do I apply a cake wrap or strip?
Peel the backing off and press the strip onto soft, freshly frosted buttercream, smoothing as you go around the cake. Trim any excess length and tuck the seam at the back of the cake.
What are cake strips and wraps made of?
They're printed using food-safe edible ink on either soft, sugar-based frosting sheets or thin wafer paper, depending on the option you choose at checkout.
Can I order a custom size that's not listed?
Yes — if your cake's height or circumference falls outside our standard sizes, reach out through our Contact page and we'll cut a wrap to your exact measurements.
Can wraps be used on tiered cakes?
Yes — apply a separate strip or wrap to each tier, sized to that tier's own height and circumference, for a clean, consistent look from top to bottom.
Will the strip crack or break when I wrap it around the cake?
Frosting sheets are flexible and curve smoothly around most standard round and square cakes. Wafer paper is a little more rigid, so it handles gentle curves best — letting it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before applying can make it easier to work with.
How long do edible sheets last, and how should I store them?
Unopened and kept flat in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and humidity, sheets stay fresh for an extended period. Once opened, we recommend using your sheet promptly for the best color and texture.
Are your edible sheets gluten-free or allergen-friendly?
Ingredients can vary by sheet type, so please check the specific product listing or contact us for a full ingredient and allergen list before ordering — especially important if you or your guests have food allergies.
What image quality do you need for the sharpest print?
Send us the largest, highest-resolution version of your photo, logo, or artwork you have. The more detail in the original file, the more vivid and sharp your printed wrap will be.
How fast is production and shipping?
Current production and shipping timelines are listed on our Shipping page, so you can plan your order around your event date.
